Here are some of the worst fashion mistakes that guys commit all the time. Make sure that you aren't guilty of any of them.
1. Socks and Sandals
As you may have guessed, this one just had to show up on the list. It is almost universally known that you never wear socks with sandals, but guys still do it. It is never a good look for anyone, besides, if its warm enough for sandals, its too warm for socks.
2. Cell Phone Belt Clips
These are so puzzling to me, why is it not sufficient to put your phone in your pocket? Why do you need to keep your phone attached to your side where everyone can see it? If you are one of the guys who still use these phone belt holsters, then lose it; it makes you look quite nerdy.
3. Stained Clothes
Even if you think the stain is small and people won't notice it, change, because I guarantee that they will. If you want to impress people and show them that you are well dressed and sharp looking, then properly clean your shirts and remove stains, otherwise they will think you are a slob.
4. Blaring Brand Names
Just because it says "Louis Vuitton" or "Dolce and Gabbana" on it, doesn't mean it's stylish. Big brand names across your shirt, no matter how expensive the shirt was, look cheap, so leave the brand advertisements for billboards, and not your chest.
5. Ill Fitting Clothes
One of my biggest annoyances is when people wear terrible ill fitting clothes. Anything looks better when it is properly sized and fits your body well. Often people buy clothes that are too big and look like they are swimming in fabric. If this is the case, take it to a tailor and have it adjusted, and make sure in the future to try things on before you buy them.

One of the easiest ways to take a look from average to styled is to add a v-neck t-shirt. Every other guy out there wears crew neck t-shirts, so by just adding a v-neck you will stand out from the rest. Not only are they different, but they also make anyone look better. They are a timeless look that come in a wide variety of colors and from just as many brands. Even within the v-neck category, there are a range of options, from a conservative, not-too-deep v-neck, to a deeper cut one. My only advice is to opt for a fitted one, that's snugger around your chest and body to make your waist look smaller and your chest look bigger. Once you have one there are so many different ways to wear it. Dress it up with some dark-wash jeans and a nice blazer, or dress it down with a pair of shorts. Either way you can't go wrong.

Here are some of my favorite looks from the Spring 2011 Salvatore Ferragamo show. I love all of the neutral colors and how, even though they aren't bright, they make an impact. I love the trench coat above. The white trim really makes it stand out and look very sharp. The coat below also makes the same statement, but with reversed colors. The belt on the coat pulls the look together and is the perfect finishing touch. Also, both are double breasted, which adds to the timelessness of these looks.

This spring, another trend that is one of my personal favorites is double breasted anything, but especially sport coats. A double breasted jacket can really make a look. It adds a touch of class to any outfit. The great thing about it is there is no wrong way to wear it. You can wear it over a shirt and tie for a dressy look, or over a t-shirt and jeans for a more casual look. And either wearing it buttoned, or completely opened is acceptable: whatever fits you best. So pick up a double breasted jacket for this spring, and luckily they are available at a wide variety of stores and from a wide variety of designers.
