Take the Chill Off: How to Wear Cardigans

It's officially fall, and while it may not be cold enough to take out your collection of wool coats, you may want to wear something to keep you a little bit warmer. That's when you put on a sweater, particularly a  cardigan. They range from lightweight to heavier fabrics and will transition into winter as a very nice layer. No matter what your personal style is, you can find a cardigan you will like. They come in seemingly countless styles, from solid colors to stripes, and they can be dressed up or dressed down to fit wherever you are off to.

Just wear it over a shirt and tie and you're set for the office, or you can make it a little more casual by rolling up the sleeves (top left and bottom right) and you're set for a night out on the town. They will fit just as well into your weekend wardrobe by wearing one over a t-shirt and pairing it with jeans or khakis. If you are looking to be a little bit trendier, opt for a varsity cardigan (bottom left). My only tip is, just as you would with a blazer, never button the bottom button. It makes it look too uptight and boxy, which is not a look you want.
